BOOKS In the fourth nine weeks, we will be reading two major works.  First, we will read the young adult novel Speak.  Then, we will turn our attention to Romeo and Juliet.  While this work is in the textbook, I highly recommend purchasing or borrowing any of the parallel text versions on the market.  Parallel texts are versions of the play that present a modern language translation side-by-side with the original Elizabethan language.  These texts are invaluable in helping students learn to read both the language in general and the play itself.

GRADES If you haven't already, please parents, sign up using the directions found HERE.  Then use it to monitor your student's grades AND give your username and password to your student so he/she can do the same.  If I could do it legally, I'd require this! (It's that good!)
