Monday 12/16

 

1. Journal: Describe the entire experience of doing your Semester Project.  What went well and what didn’t?  What did you enjoy and what did you dislike?  End your journal by summing up your overall satisfaction with your product.

2. Semester Project Final Turn-In Reading

    a. Spend the period sharing your Semester Projects.  Read and enjoy.

    b. Some may be asked to share with the class.

    c. Turn in Semester Project.

3. Guided Imagery Poem and reverse tone RRD due today - checked today/tomorrow.

 

Tuesday 12/17

 

1. Journal: What are some of the small things that really irritate you in everyday life?  Describe them.  What do you think makes each so annoying? (Poetry Portfolio entry)

2. Poetry Workshop: Revision of Guided Imagery Poem

    a. Reading and directed review your poem – write answers on your poem or on the back:

        1) Does it capture the exact emotion you wanted?  How?

        2) How many of the five senses does your poem use?  Try for five if you can.

        3) Write down three words from you poem you think are particularly good word choices.  Tell why each is so good.

    b. Revision – no matter how good, make it better!

        1) Now, revise your poem paying particular attention to imagery and diction.

        2) You may ask for good words aloud – I will look them up for you!

        3) Get a peer reader to review your poem once more.

    c. RDs and RRDs checked today – tomorrow with FC if needed.

    d. Final copy of Regular Version only due tomorrow on non-lined paper.

 

Wednesday 12/18

 

1. Journal: 10 minute Open Write (regular journal)

2. Poetry Workshop

    a. Illustrate/decorate your Guided Imagery Poem.

    b. Read poem to the class and turn in.

    c. Be sure all your drafts are in your Poetry section.
