These multimedia presentations were created independently by students, and while the projects are certainly worthy of sharing here, some are better than others. You should keep in mind that none of them is perfect, but enjoy them for the interesting glimpse of mathematics each provides.

Mathematical Games

 

This project offers an historical look at various types of mathematical games, providing several examples and their solutions.

Optical Illusions  

This visually engaging presentation demonstrates how mathematical vocabulary is used in creating and understanding illusions.

Math and Golf  

Anyone interested in golf would appreciate the analysis offered in this PowerPoint.  It examines the mathematical differences between the various types of golf clubs in addition to the aerodynamics of the golf ball.

Diamonds  

This project offers an in-depth summary of the art of diamond cutting.  It explains the four Cs and uses many geometric diagrams throughout the presentation.  Very original.

Einstein  

A general overview of Einstein's life and  accomplishments is presented in this PowerPoint. It's not terribly original, but the highlights and pictures are interesting.

Gestalt Psychology  

This original presentation examines the similarities between logic as applied in psychology and in mathematics.  It has some excellent diagrams to emphasize and explain the relationships.
